Facilitating Imposter Syndrome Discussion for SUNY’s Hispanic Leadership Institute
Albany, NY – February 5, 2025 – Tibisay Hernandez, Founder of A Curious Space and a 2019 alumna of the SUNY Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI), recently returned as a facilitator to lead a discussion on Imposter Syndrome and its impact on Latinx professionals. As one of the many facilitators supporting this year’s HLI cohort, Hernandez provided insights on overcoming self-doubt and fostering confidence in leadership.
HLI, established by the State University of New York (SUNY), is dedicated to developing and advancing Hispanic/Latinx leaders within higher education. The program provides training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to support Latinx professionals aspiring to leadership roles across the SUNY system.
During her session, Hernandez explored how Imposter Syndrome uniquely affects Latinx professionals, particularly in academic and leadership settings. She guided participants in reframing self-doubt and leveraging their identities as strengths in professional spaces.
Reflecting on her continued involvement with HLI, Hernandez shared, “As a 2019 HLI alumna, it’s incredibly fulfilling to return as a facilitator and support the next generation of Latinx leaders. This program played a pivotal role in my own leadership journey, and I’m honored to still be engaged in these efforts to empower others.”
